My family gathered together for our annual week-long family reunion in July 2024. It was the first time all my family was together in Oregon since I moved here nearly 20 years ago, and it was important to me that I provide them with some lasting core memories, including some adventure time in the stunning beauty of Oregon's natural environment.
My 3 older sisters live all over the world, so it is rare that we can all be together. It was especially fun and meaningful, therefore, that the four of us got to be alone together in a boat with our guide, Max while the rest of our family was in another boat with their guide, Dan.
Not only did Max provide us with excellent instruction and make all my sisters and me feel completely safe and confident in his guidance, he was, also, open, great fun to be around and possessed an obvious love for what he does, which was beautiful to witness. He definitely left all of my sisters and me with some lasting core memories.
Dan, who guided the rest of my family in the other boat, also received a glowing review from his crew. As the organizer of the whitewater rafting trip, I was especially happy to learn that my 80-year-old mother, who recently tore her rotator cuffs and was unable to paddle, was in a boat with a trained paramedic. She told me, after our rafting, what an incredibly fun time she had, which made me so happy, as she has recently been dealing with some difficult circumstances and really needed some fun and adventure in her life.
I am normally the family photographer, but as it wasn't practical to have my camera out while paddling, I was happy that there was an opportunity to order some photos from NWA's team photographer, who was able to capture some even better shots from the vantage points she was able to shoot from up high along our 2.5 hour trip.
I highly recommend Northwest Whitewater Adventures for any person or group looking to have a beautiful Oregon adventure with competent guides who are skilled and fun.
